Boosted Mini, Plus, & Stealth

Boosted was all about fast, fun, and simple transportation—vehicles people could count on for their daily rides and for a good time. By popular demand, we introduced a new shortboard and upgraded our longboard lineup. At the same time, we took on the challenge of bringing nearly every component in-house, designing each part from the ground up to be the best of the best—built to last for thousands of miles.

design & development

Boosted faced two key challenges: First, riders wanted a more affordable way to get on a board. Second, some of our suppliers struggled to meet our growing demand for both quantity and quality. Our solution? Introduce a new entry-level shortboard and refine our longboard components—partnering with more experienced suppliers to ensure top-tier production.

Shortboard Design

Designed for shorter commutes, campus cruising, and easy portability, the Boosted Mini packs everything you need into a small but mighty electric skateboard. Its unique Deep Dish concave shape keeps your feet locked in, giving you the confidence to lean in and carve hard. Add a functional kicktail, and you’ve got sharp turns, quick pivots, and unmatched maneuverability—all in an affordable package.

We started by exploring different deck silhouettes and a combined battery/motor controller. After further discussion and refinement, we opted to stick with the existing battery and redesign the motor controller housing to create a more seamless, integrated form.

Longboard Design

The Boosted Plus and Stealth reimagine our classic longboard with refinements in all the right places. Built for smooth carving, long commutes, and serious speed, these boards feature a wider profile for enhanced stability and control. Upgraded construction improves vibration dampening, while a fine-tuned flex delivers just the right amount of pop.

We worked closely with our new deck supplier—experts in snowboards and skis—to integrate their advanced production techniques into our design. This collaboration led to key improvements in strength, durability, and manufacturability, ensuring our boards could handle the demands of daily riding with ease. It also inspired our CMF explorations to focus on the layered construction techniques that they utilize.

Bringing it together

Wheels

The Secret Sauce

Creating wheels from the ground up is no small task—just ask anyone in the skate industry. We spent countless hours working with our pro riders and rigorously validating designs to ensure our wheels hit the mark. A wide contact patch gives you plenty of grip, while the dished outer profile ensures smooth transitions over rough pavement. Our custom PU formula strikes the perfect balance—offering insane grip, durability, and predictable slides when you need them.

Core & Pour Development

With a little help from some seasoned longboarders and plenty of hands-on testing, we explored a variety of sizes and profiles. We started with two main lip shapes: a thick, burly one we dubbed “chunk,” and a slimmer lip. After testing, it was clear the thinner lip gave us the best performance. We also experimented with several core designs and materials, fine-tuning each to get the perfect blend of strength, flexibility, and ride feel.

Color & Graphics Studies

By this point, Boosted’s signature orange wheels had become iconic. But it was time to take our color story to the next level. We set out to create a new shade of orange—one that’s vibrant, fresh, and even more inviting. The goal was to make the color pop while maintaining that bold, recognizable Boosted identity.

To explore our color options, we used clear epoxy resin with fluorescent dyes to mimic the depth and vibrancy of urethane. This process allowed us to experiment with a variety of colors, with a special focus on different shades of orange. After creating these samples, we cut them in half and sent them to our vendor for color matching to ensure perfect consistency and quality.
